Are we aware of how our mobility and rhythm of life are affecting the health of our children?
Are we taking the necessary measures to reduce emissions where kids live?
From Hi Little!, we want to start a movement of families, girls and boys, in order to create social awareness of the need to renaturate cities and municipalities and transform them so that they are child-friendly places to live in.
For this reason, we have created #TheKindCity, an awareness raising campaign to explain the harm to children's health suffered in their cities and to claim the right of girls and boys to take to think of them and their needs for development, growth and well-being. , when rethinking urban projects.
HOW?
-
Designing this collection of sustainable T-shirts with a message, making visible the problems suffered by children in cities and the need for spaces designed for them.
-
Starting an online and offline awareness raising campaign and making a lot of noise in social networks: #TheKindCity. Can you help us?
-
Making alliances with related projects in order to jointly develop awareness actions during the 20-21 school year.
-
Giving the 10% of the proceeds from this Crowdfunding to carry out actions to renature the spaces and make them more amiable for children.
Very easy! Making a contribution.
In exchange, you’ll receive one of the rewards that you will see below.
It is essential to reach the minimum objective, because only in this way, we will able to generate a minimum sensitizing impact of making this problem visible, we will be able to produce the #TheKindCity rewards and allocate 10% of the benefits of this campaign to actions to renature the spaces and make them more child-friendly.
Successfully achieving the objective will be fundamental, since it will not only make possible the production of the t-shirt collection, aimed at awareness on this topic, but it will also serve as a start of this protest movement that will develop throughout next school year and will lead to the consolidation of our transformative project of social and sustainable fashion that plans to become a Cooperative before the end of 2021.
Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign
For this occasion, we present a new capsule collection with three t-shirt designs with powerful messages, made in organic cotton and produced in ethical way. The designs are for the whole family, which under the slogan "YOUR POLLUTION, MY CONFUSION" are intended to make visible an injustice that translates into a problem of autonomy and health for the smallest.
We also include other rewards like:
· Mobile wallpaper with the design of #TheKindCity,
· Postcards illustrated with a thank you message that we will include in each of the shipments (and that you can frame to decorate a corner of the house)
· Reusable Hygienic Masks made with Recycled Organic Cotton fabric, with a patch detail with the motto of our campaign "YOUR POLLUTION, MY CONFUSION" and with a pocket for disposable TNT filter. Available in two sizes, child and adult. They will also include 5 gift TNT filters. Two colors: Cream and Mustard. (Color subject to production provision).
With this campaign we want to start a movement that lasts the entire school year 20-21 in order to carry out new actions to make the problem visible to families and educational centers, in order to empower girls and boys, and to raise awareness, learn to detect their own needs, that they know their rights and that they are aware that they can demand of institutions, like any other citizen, when these rights are not respected. For this reason, we need your support, because if we do not reach the minimum objective, the project will hardly be able to become a reality.
The delivery of the rewards is scheduled for the month of November. It will be an ideal gift if you want to make a Christmas present. So if you choose a children's short-sleeved shirt, make sure they can continue using it during 2021, year in which the campaign will continue.
Why this is important
There are different studies that show that, in areas with high levels of contamination, the cognitive development of kids is much slower. Breathing the air of the cities affects the entire population, but especially and with more incidence to one of the most vulnerable groups: children.
The idea of putting the cities and the children who live in it at the center of the project, has been thanks to the collective participation of more than 100 families who in late 2019, after our previous campaign "Mediterranean Fragility" voted that in the next collection Hi Little! will approach how children is always the great forgotten one in decision-making for the development of cities and how the rhythm of life of adults is affecting not only the environment, but also children’s health.
We have been able to verify this during the alarm period. Pollution levels have dropped to a minimum and, on the contrary, boys and girls have not been allowed to take a walk for a minute to breathe the new air before de-escalation.
This campaign had to be postponed due the state of alarm. And now, more than ever, we consider it extremely necessary.
Article 12 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child provides:
“1. States Parties shall assure to the child who is capable of forming his or her own views the right to express those views freely in all matters affecting the child, the views of the child being given due weight in accordance with the age and maturity of the child.
- For this purpose the child shall in particular be provided the opportunity to be heard in any judicial and administrative proceedings affecting the child, either directly, or through a representative or an appropriate body, in a manner consistent with the procedural rules of national law.”
With this campaign we pretend:
· To reflect on whether this law is or isn’t actually being followed.
· To promote among children, with the help of their families, to express their opinion about the decisions the decisions on the institutions and their Town Halls, that affect them.
Thanks to your support, we will surely achieve the minimum objective, but in
In the event of not reaching it, the contributions to each of the rewards will be returned to our co-founders.
If you have not yet participated, you are one click away from contributing your grain of sand to make #TheKindCity a reality!
