The ceiling: We want to fix the leaks!
The building that we are going to rent is very old, has not been used in the last ten years and has a variety of damages and leaks. But that is not something that scares us !! We are ready to fix everything with a lot of energy and desire and with the hope of being able to start the next course waterproof
£ 1,668
We want to have natural light, ventilation and good energy in our new place!
To be able to do this, we will have to remove the old windows at an estimated cost of about 100 euros. Then buy and install the new windows, which will cost us 1200 euros.
£ 1,084
Warmth: Let´s warm up our school!
We need a wood-burning stove that heats the entire school in a pleasant way. We will also insulate the space of the new place so that the cold does not escape us.
£ 1,001
Reading: We change the stables in a fantastic library
The building has a space that has been used as a stable for a long time. Our idea is to take advantage of the walls and ceiling that are already there and create our new library. We will have to brick, plaster, paint and install a door. Cabinets and desks are also needed to complete the space.

General information

We are an Educational Association with more than 15 years of experience in accompanying children, enriching ourselves with different methodologies of active and respectful pedagogy. Our project is made up of 28 families who come from different places and countries and who live in the Sierra de Aracena (Huelva). Most of us have arrived motivated by the illusion of being part of this project, because of what it contributes to our lives and looking for tools that allow us to create an environment of respect, communication and healthy growth for our children.
This project is totally self-managed, which means that all the protagonists are immersed in a process of collective creation in which we work, learn and grow together. La Semilla is, moreover, something greater than the sum of its members; It is the great accumulation of energy and wisdom that has been left by all the people who have passed through it. It is a dream that has become powerful, now it is autonomous and we no longer own it.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP? In these times, there are more and more families who want to enjoy living in this wonderful environment so that their children can grow up in a natural environment. Furthermore; Children grow and their needs grow, we need more space to be able to attend them with quality.
Right next to La Semilla, we have found a perfect farm, but it has been in disuse and we have to fix it so that our children can enjoy a beautiful and cozy space prepared for them. We want to stop leaks, improve lighting with new windows and make the house better insulated from cold and humidity. We want to make it livable and cozy, fix cracks in the wall and paint it, transform the old stables into our new library, fix the chicken coops and we would love to be able to bring water to plant new seeds in the garden! The financial support that we get thanks to your donations will allow us to create a space that facilitates our expansion, so we will be able to grow and share this project with the rest of the community and the social environment where we live. The place is available…. the desire and the illusion to transform it too… ..we put the energy of our collective to work…. we just need your help to make this dream come true! If you can dream it, you can make it come true !!!

Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign

WHAT OBJECTIVE DO WE HAVE?
La Semilla, is in essence, a prepared environment, with dedicated professionals and a group of families who work to make this project come true every day. In this space, children can grow up safely and develop becoming responsible for their freedom, attending to their social, emotional and knowledge needs. La Semilla is a space for living, playing and learning for children from the age of three.

They live in one single group without age separation, learning from and with eachother.
However, there are specific activities and spaces for two different groups:´tritones´, the younger ones and ´tigres´, those who assume the responsibility of managing themselves in a dynamic in which they plan the content and rhythm of their learning. The group of tigers has a specific space for them to use, where companions, materials and activities are appropriate to their level of development.

Why this is important

WHAT DOES OUR LOCATION LOOK LIKE?

We are very lucky to be located in a beautiful evironment! In the middle of the mountains, surrounded by chestnut trees, holm oaks and cork oaks, is where you can find our small farm with fruit trees and a stream. It gives us shelter and allows our creatures to enjoy the natural environment, the noises of life and the changing of the seasons.

The physical space is equipped with the materials necessary for autonomous learning in the different areas of knowledge: reading-writing and library, calculus, painting, geography and geology, physics, biology and natural sciences. Also carpentry, electronics and mechanics, history, gross and fine motor skills, chemistry, symbolic play, etc. The children are getting to know the material and can have it when their interest prompts them to do so, as well as the attention and accompaniment of an adult for their activity.

Casa de murcielagos: Is a large house, occupied on the first floor by the ´tigres´ and on the ground floor by the ´tritones´. It is mainly used for concentration times and research projects for the older children.

Sala de colchones: A wooden house prepared for psychomotor skills, symbolic play and construction.

creaciones: A space for creativity and imagination without limits.

The exterior, which is the privileged place of play. With a sandbox, motor and sensory structures, water, trees and a stream, offering endless possibilities for active and playful experimentation.
