Lavaux, Belgium.
Two families gather in a countryside house. Alex, 21 years old, realizes she is pregnant while on vacation with her mother and her best friend's family. She doesn't want anyone to find out who the father of her baby is. Slowly, one of the characters discovers who it is and decides to take a drastic decision.
This project is a trilingual drama/thriller in which some characters speak Spanish, French, and others Dutch.
Technical Information:
Genre: Drama/Thriller
Visual Style: Naturalistic
Duration: 20 mins
Setting: Countryside house in Belgium
Language(s): Spanish, French, Dutch
In addition to wanting to narrate an intriguing and aesthetically beautiful story showcasing the landscapes of Belgium, the house, and the tranquility that the place conveys, one of the project's objectives is to contrast this cinematic beauty with the story being told; a harsh story that is not narrated with words but with sensations, looks. It is a film that revolves around the "unsaid," the family secrets, which, when they exist, are always known, consciously or unconsciously. Taboos that are so terrifying that they are not wanted to be seen, and when we try to bring them to light, each person reacts their own way.
The vast majority of the team are current and former students of the Barcelona Film School. We have worked on several short films together that are currently in post-production, as well as music videos or commercials.
As this is a Belgian-Spanish project, there are two production directors:
Elena Irrurizaga, who handles production in Belgium and currently works at 23bis, a Swiss production company
Claudia Travieso, the production head in Spain, who has been in the industry for years. She has worked on high-caliber films, with her passion lying in transportation management, particularly in caring for the team and the project.
Alba Marco serves as the DIT (Digital Imaging Technician), colorist, and storyboarder for the project, collaborating with the director from the beginning of the scriptwriting stage to the end of post-production. An ECIB Cinematography Direction alumnus, she is currently specializing in color grading.
In addition to wanting to narrate an intriguing story, one of the objectives of this project is to expose cases of sexual violence within a close circle.
