🏠 Months ago, information on climate change had even managed to open news. What happened? If you were attentive, less than a year ago Chile had to organize the climate summit, but the social unrest that it was suffering made it impossible to hold this event, passing the baton urgently and quickly to Madrid. In a few weeks COP 25 was organized with a very positive organizational result, although not so much in the area of agreements.

📬 In this newsletter we reaffirm our commitment to the communication of this climate emergency and we present you 3 active campaigns that build the foundations for the construction of new informational habits, ecological consumption and international solidarity. Happy reading and collaboration!

Dunia Agroecology by Tarpuna

🤝 At Goteo, in addition to accompanying individual projects, we are also a platform for other entities that promote social return microfinance. This is the case of the Tarpuna cooperative and its Dunia project with which they facilitate the involvement of the citizens of Barcelona in sustainable food through microfinance. Join us to support small organic and local producers and processors from all over Catalonia, which supply the city of Barcelona. (Oh! And do not hesitate to contact us at info@goteo.org if you want to promote initiatives like this in your territory 😉)

🌾 In Priorat Vegetables join forces to launch a young entrepreneurship project to revitalize the aging Priorat region. They will reduce single-use containers with returnable baskets and promote R&D in organic gardens.

♻️ Against food waste and for the improvement of organic waste management in Ecologic Compost Km0 they recover barren lands in Maresme and with your contribution they will have guarantees of job security by acquiring adequate machinery.

😋 Do you love carob and want to boost the rural economy to reduce environmental impact? In Cultius Gaiathey will be able to continue growing, producing and selling organic products made from carob, almond or hazelnut. Help them open their bakery and sample some of their delicious rewards!

Climática

⏰ Climática is the first independent and professional newspaper in Spain specialized in the causes and consequences of global warming, born in May 2019. After several years devoting special attention to it on the pages of lamarea.com, they decided to go one step further. If all the scientific evidence placed climate change as the most important news of our time, it was necessary to launch an exclusively dedicated medium to address it.

👥 They have put all their enthusiasm and energy for months to build a first alarm clock. From now on, it will work only if you help them wind it up: they will never accept a euro from energy companies or from the banks that finance the fossil fuel business. For this reason, it is essential to have your support to consolidate this medium: they will improve the website, commission reports and prepare a new edition of La Uni Climática with small-format training workshops.

🙋‍♀️ Were you looking for a means free of 'greenwashing' to raise awareness about the climate crisis? Well, it already exists. And it depends on you. Collaborate in Climática!

The Social Water 💧

👧🏻 Between 2018 and 2019, The Social Water facilitated access to drinking water for more than 2,500 people, thanks to the distribution of 397 water purifying filters that they distributed among families and schools in rural areas of Ecuador.

✌ They have proven in the field how this practical solution that fits in our hands can change lives. For clean water is the source of all progress. Now her goal is to help more people with difficult access to drinking water, starting with Latin America.

🤗 And how? They have created their own brand of filters and a new scalable distribution system. This way they can start up the sale of filters in Europe (for your daily activities), and 100% of the profits will go to families and schools in areas most affected by the Water Crisis, so that they can have filters at greatly reduced prices , even free.

Agenda

These next fifteen days we will be in various events, so we share three that could be of interest to you. The first is held this Thursday the 12th and the next two on Thursday the 19th, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, so Thursdays can be your big day!

Start over? ✊

How can we approach the climate crisis from different areas? What plans do you have for the next few weeks to drive climate action? These were some of the questions posed a year ago to a dozen organizations and movements for the climate at an event organized by Climática in Madrid.

Now the context is very different and the priorities seem to be different. But we want to keep talking about the weather. Therefore, we encourage you to follow this online meeting on November 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Climática's Youtube Channel. More than ever, it is necessary to provide social responses to the climate crisis.

Let's talk about money! 🚀

On November 19, from 10 to 12 CET, the ACTION project will host an online event dedicated to the financial sustainability of Citizen Science. A two-hour talk with experts and success stories and an opportunity to discuss how to find the right combination between different paths to sustainability.

The event is organized in three parts: in the first part the experts will talk about Corporate Social Responsibility, financing for social impact, crowdfunding and other possible solutions to support citizen science initiatives, especially those focused on pollution and other environmental issues. In the second part, a panel discussion will help the audience get a clearer idea of how to benefit from these sustainability options. The third and last part will be an open debate between participants. Our colleague Chiara Rutolo will speak about our mission, so it is an ideal occasion to listen to her ¡Sign up!

#CROWDCOOP+FESC2020 ✊

Do you want to consolidate and strengthen your cooperative projects through crowdfunding? Sign up now! to the online session within the FESC2020 next November 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. where we will explain our successful Crowdcoop.org project.

Since February 2020, more than 160 people have already participated in training on crowdfunding and communication. 13 projects have already been financed through Goteo, getting more than 250,000 euros and we want yours to be the next. Cheer up!

See you in 15 days! 😜

Up to here we arrive. We hope that this newsletter has encouraged you to continue walking towards the society of all and for all that we are approaching, little by little. Until next time!
